The Most Valuable Data in Your Organization Has Never Been in a System

AI can write code, summarize contracts, and generate quarterly reports in seconds. What it cannot do is replace the pole designer who has spent 30 years doing make-ready work, the field supervisor who knows exactly which engineer to call when a structural flag comes back ambiguous, or the back-office specialist who carries the context between what the crew collected, what the software calculated, and what the customer will actually approve. That expertise still belongs to the person who built it over decades.

The problem is that most of it was never written down.

Before founding Cloneable, my co-founders Tyler, Pat and I were part of the early team at a drone technology company. We flew drones over millions of acres of infrastructure and kept hitting the same wall: a handful of experts, each carrying years of hard-won judgment, were the single point of failure for critical decisions. The data was there. The tools were not. So we built something to capture the way people actually make decisions, not the process doc version, but the real version.

The industries that need this most are the ones enterprise software largely skipped. Utilities, telecom, agriculture, construction. Places where the most critical operational knowledge was never captured in any system, because no system was built for it. Everyone is focused on AI transforming knowledge work. We have been watching a more consequential shift: the decision traces, the exceptions, the overrides, the "we always handle it this way when X." The judgment calls made in the field, over a photo on a phone screen, that never hit a form field.

That is what actually runs the built world. And it is almost entirely invisible, until now.

What Cloneable does (plain and simple)

Cloneable observes your most experienced people doing the work: pole designers in SpidaCalc, GIS specialists in ESRI, field crews on iPhones. It clones their decision-making into AI agents that execute the same workflows autonomously, on top of the systems they already use.

Not a chatbot. Not a copilot. An agent that knows how your infrastructure actually gets built and maintained, because it learned from the people who built and maintained it.

An engineering firm can run make-ready engineering at a fraction of the cost without adding headcount. A telecom operator can process construction verification without a back-office bottleneck. A field crew can complete inspections in half the time, with built-in quality validation before anyone leaves the site.

Why general-purpose AI falls short here

General-purpose AI platforms are trained on the breadth of the internet. That generality makes them inconsistent in environments where precision, domain context, and regulatory compliance are critical. You cannot prompt your way to 30 years of institutional knowledge.

The gap in industrial operations is not between data collection and storage. It is between observation and action. What lives in that gap is expert judgment that moves too fast and too quietly to ever hit a form field.

Today we are announcing $4.6M in seed funding

The round was led by Congruent Ventures, with participation from First In, Bull City Venture Partners, and Overline. We are using it to expand deployments in utility and telecom, deepen Cloneable Agent's capabilities for engineering-grade back-office workflows, and grow the team.

Eliza Cushman, Partner at Congruent Ventures, shared her perspective on the investment: the $30 trillion U.S. economy relies on infrastructure that is aging faster than we can maintain it. The real bottleneck is not just dollars, but decades of uncaptured industrial knowledge, leaving grids unhardened and infrastructure unbuilt. She sees Cloneable's vertical AI agents as a fundamentally new category for managing our most fundamental industries.

What comes next

We already serve customers across utilities, telecom, and agriculture. Now we are bringing that automation to the back office. Building for this complexity cannot be done by retrofitting a horizontal tool. It requires starting from the ground up, which is exactly what our founding team, with careers spent as operators and technology partners in these verticals, has done.

The built world runs on expertise that was never meant to be invisible. We are here to change that.
