CAREERS AT CLONEABLE

Build the technology that makes expertise scalable.

We're not here to make incremental improvements. We're transforming how industrial teams manage critical infrastructure worldwide by cloning the decision-making of their best people.

About Cloneable

Cloneable is an AI-powered platform transforming how enterprises manage complex, mission-critical workflows. We're solving hard problems in large, established industries — fiber broadband buildout, power engineering, and utility infrastructure — where legacy software and manual processes create massive operational drag. Our platform automates field data collection and back-office workflows, helping leading companies modernize how they operate.

We're a seed-stage company (growing fast) backed by leading climate and infrastructure investors.

You'll love Cloneable if you:

  • Want to be the expert voice for an industry
  • Enjoy building tools that solve real problems
  • Prefer a role where you're both customer-facing and building things
  • Want to shape product direction with your domain expertise
  • Want meaningful equity and influence at a seed-stage company

Forward Deployed Engineer

The Opportunity

Forward Deployed Engineers at Cloneable sit at the intersection of customer success and product engineering. You'll embed with our enterprise customers, learn their workflows inside and out, and build the AI-powered systems that replace what used to be done manually. This is a high-ownership role where you'll go from discovery to production with real customers in industries that haven't seen this kind of automation before.

What You'll Be Doing

Own Deployments End-to-End

  • Lead technical discovery with customers: understand their software environments, data sources, and workflow bottlenecks focusing on delivering high value, high impact capabilities
  • Design and build AI-powered automation solutions tailored to each customer's operational context
  • Own delivery from first prototype through stable production rollout
  • Guide customer teams through adoption and be the trusted technical voice on the ground

Build Production-Grade Systems

  • Integrate Cloneable's agent platform with customer-specific tools, APIs, and enterprise software including industrial and domain-specific systems
  • Build backend services, data pipelines, and automation workflows that hold up in high-stakes production environments
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack: infrastructure, models, integrations, and customer-side constraints

Close the Loop Between Field and Product

  • Translate customer friction into clear product and model feedback for the internal engineering team
  • Codify what works and turn successful deployments into reusable patterns, playbooks, and tooling
  • Partner closely with our CTO and product team to sequence delivery and keep things moving
What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience, including direct customer-facing work
  • Strong coding skills in Python or TypeScript; ability to contribute production-quality code
  • Hands-on experience building or deploying systems that use LLMs, AI agents, or generative AI
  • Experience building with AI and strong at context switching while working multiple projects in parallel
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity. You can take a messy customer environment and find a path to working software
  • Clear communicator who can work with both technical engineers and non-technical operators
  • Experience deploying and managing production services (cloud infrastructure, APIs)

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with industrial, utility, or enterprise field operations software
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools
  • Background in enterprise software integration or legacy system connectivity
  • Prior experience at a seed or Series A company

You'll Thrive Here If You:

  • Get energized by industries where the operational problems are real and the tooling hasn't caught up
  • Prefer shipping and iterating over planning in the abstract
  • Want to own outcomes, not just tasks
  • See working directly with customers as a strength, not a detour from "real" engineering

Full Stack Engineer

The Opportunity

Join our founding engineering team building the AI automation layer for enterprise infrastructure. You'll work directly with our CTO to architect and scale backend systems that power intelligent agents running on specialized enterprise software environments.

This isn't about building yet another SaaS app. You're building intelligent agents that navigate complex desktop environments, parse documents, integrate with cutting-edge AI models, and execute multi-step workflows autonomously in production environments where reliability is non-negotiable.

What You'll Be Doing

Build AI-Powered Automation Systems

  • Design and implement intelligent agents that automate complex, repetitive workflows across specialized enterprise software platforms.
  • Architect backend services that orchestrate agentic workflows, handling concurrency, reliability, and observability at scale.
  • Build agentic frameworks and tools to power enterprise agentic use.
  • Build systems that integrate with state-of-the-art AI models (LLMs, vision models, document parsing) to generate workflows, extract structured data, and drive adaptive execution logic.

Scale Backend Infrastructure

  • Own backend services that power our agent deployments.
  • Build robust APIs and data pipelines that connect field operations to back-office systems.
  • Ensure production reliability, performance monitoring, and incident response for mission-critical customer workflows.

Collaborate & Ship

  • Work directly with our CTO and founding team to break down ambitious product goals into shippable milestones.
  • Bring cutting-edge agentic capabilities into production.
  • Deploy and iterate rapidly based on real customer feedback from enterprise partners.
  • Use AI tools throughout your daily workflow to accelerate development and solve complex problems.
What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience building production systems
  • Fluency in TypeScript or Python or Rust Bonus for more than one.
  • AI-native mindset: You use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.) every day to accelerate your work and tackle hard problems
  • Proven problem-solving ability: You can take ambiguous requirements, break them down, and ship working solutions
  • Startup DNA: You thrive in fast-moving environments where you own outcomes, not just tasks
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Building scalable distributed systems and backend services
    • Integrating with AI/ML models (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar APIs)
    • Deploying and managing production services
    • Database design and optimization

Nice to Have

  • Experience with distributed workflow orchestration (Temporal.io, Cadence, or similar)
  • Infrastructure as code and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Background in automation, RPA, or desktop application integration
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup (seed to Series A)
  • Familiarity with industrial/enterprise software, legacy systems, or domain-specific engineering tools

You'll Love This Role If You:

  • Get energized solving technical problems in industries that have yet to be disrupted by automation- we’re building a first!
  • Want to see your code immediately impact real customers doing real work
  • Prefer shipping and iterating to endless planning and process
  • Believe AI tools should be core to how engineers work, not a side experiment
